Tough to review but e arly reviewers have already raved about it here , here , here , and here .  Not that you need more convincing, but instead of a review, I'm giving you my Top 10 reasons why you should read "The Girl Who Walked in the Shadows " by Marnie Riches . 1.    Confident writing. So confident it can be brutal. You know, the in-your-face kind of brutal that leaves a black eye in the morning. Get some ice. 2.    Bursting at the seams with fascinating and flawed characters:  from the morally ambiguous to the sordidly immoral to the sexually fluid to the emotionally crippled. Reviews: The Short of It

Been playing catch up with reading and reviewing. I’m 33 books behind schedule. Goodreads said so.  Why should I care about what Goodreads say? You see, I joined the 2015 Reading Challenge and pledged to read 80 books, which translates to 6.66 books per month (I’m glad I’m not superstitious).   Easy peasy, right?  No.  It’s September and I’m still struggling to get halfway through the challenge. I’m still convinced I could do it, but I’m going to need a strategy of some sort.   I realised that I could probably pull this one off by reading all the short stories and novellas on my TBR list. It’s not cheating. Just slightly devious planning. The Memory Man by Helen Smith Two women, memory loss, a dead man, and a psychic. Everything else are fragments. This is a bizarre story that I quite frankly did not get the first time I read it. So I had to read it again. I like to believe I got it the second time around. Or probably not. Kindle Ninja Review Edition #8  featuring The Traveller and Bomber Boy Bomber Boy by Ike Pius ★★★½ Farouk Muttab’s mission to blow up a commercial plane didn’t go as planned, which sets in motion a series of events that has dire consequences to his life, family, and the terrorist group he is connected with. Farouk’s next step is surprising in that it’s uncharacteristic of a terrorist profile, much less of a suicide bomber. He does not quite fall under the category of a religious fanatic nor someone who was brainwashed to do the deed. Such ambiguity makes you question Farouk's real intention. This makes the character even more intriguing and open to different interpretations. Perhaps, it depicts the uncertainty and doubt that men and women in the same situation wrestle with.  The story deals with the sensitive issue of terrorism and how easy it is to switch loyalties when innocent lives are threatened.
