Bring Me Sunshine by Wendy Storer (@WendyStorer) is a must read. It's heart-wrenching. It's a reality that's usually unnoticed or even ignored. Wendy evokes a keen sense of sadness and yet uplifts you in the most profound way.

What #PUSHTUESDAY CAN DO to authors and members

#PUSHTUESDAY is one of the brilliant ideas of  Rave Reviews BookClub governing body (I call them the Jedi High Council – Nonnie calls them The Gladiators – either works).  Every Tuesday, a lucky member is selected and gets massively pushed, shoved, and propelled for a full 24 hours in social media sites (primarily, but not limited to, Twitter). The “pushing” is a show of colossal support from members and such show of force has done wonders to authors’ bottomline (whether it be sales or ranking). Whilst we have different criteria on how success is measured, I must say that IN THIS CASE, the measure of success of such exercise (the PUSH) is in authors’ sales rankings. Why? Because it’s easily verifiable if you are actually paying attention. A case in point. Prior to the push, Author A languishes at the bottom ranking just over the millionth mark, and risks sinking lower. It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it? Then comes #PUSHTUESDAY. Boston Metaphysical Society PRELUDE: Top-notch Steampunk!

Boston Metaphysical Society: PRELUDE is a collection of short stories that have very important links to the Boston Metaphysical Society web comics. Written by Madeleine Holly-Rosing , Prelude is a cross between an origin story and a supplementary reading that makes the Boston Metaphysical Society universe far more intriguing. The alternate history of Boston Metaphysical Society is every bit entertaining. Ghosts, demons, supernatural beings and prominent Families that vie for ultimate economic and political control – what’s not to like? It's a rarity to like every story in a collection, but  I love them all - all seven of them. While  it’s not really a requirement to read the web comics series, I would have to say that the impact of the short stories would be more pronounced if the reader has read the Boston Metaphysical Society comics. Bartlett  5 / 5 ★★★★ ★ This book should come with a warning label that says “you may develop a temporary pirate accent”. This is just one of the many side effects of reading ‘The Blue Diamond’.
