Words Some Authors Will Never Use In Their Book Titles

If you are easily offended by filthy words, pls. stop reading. You've been warned. I was reading   a discussion on the “worst words” in the English language that quickly turned into a discussion of the nastiest words used in novels. It became very entertaining fast!  This gave me an idea for a blog post, but I wanted a little participation from authors and writers in my social media network. So, I asked 60 authors this intriguing question: Results Warning: Cannot be unseen. Click for bigger view. This could blind you. REVIEWS: Kindle Ninja Reads More Chick Lit - Part 2

  I wrote the first part of this 2-part Chick Lit review three months ago for International Women's Day .  I didn't provide an explanation on what brought this on, so, let me just do that now. Chick Lit is a much-derided literary genre and yet it's embraced by millions of readers, largely the female kind. I don't pretend to know how the genre came into existence, but I vaguely remember the genre gaining prominence at the time of the publication of Helen Fielding's "Bridget Jones Diary" . Since then, there were a multitude of writers who went the chick lit route; some were successful, while others disappeared into obscurity. The genre continues to be criticized for the perceived superficiality of the topics and themes.   After reading these books (7 of them), I can safely say that, yes, there are recurring themes and situations that are common in these books. “In my reviews, I feel it's good to make it clear that I'm not proposing objective truth, but subjective reactions..."  ― Roger Ebert Roger Ebert was a great American film critic who, along with the equally great Gene Siskel, awarded “Two Thumbs Up” to deserving films. Ebert was considered the most influential and powerful film pundit in America. Though I don’t review films, I follow Ebert’s “relative, not absolute" approach when reviewing indie books. But sometimes, authors react as if reviews are absolute truths. The way I see it, a review is really an exercise in reaction and counter-reaction: When a book gets a glowing 5-star review... When a book gets a 4-star review... When a book gets a 3-star review...  When a book gets a 2-star review...      When a book gets a 1-star review  And the ultimate reaction when a book is marked 'DID NOT FINISH' (or DNF) ...
