Episode 2: Conversations over Milk & Cookies - Teri Garringer

Welcome to Episode 2 of Conversations over Milk & Cookies hosted by Kindle Ninja.

What is this madness, you ask?

It's my way of supporting authors and writers from the Rave Reviews Book Club. For the entire month of April, I will be featuring the fine women and men that make up the Board of RRBC.

We interact with them everyday, directly through tweets, or indirectly through re-tweets, but we don't really know much about them. Their personalities really don't shine through in tweets and re-tweets.

In Episode 1, We saw the silly side of RRBC Secretary MARLENA HAND.

For Episode 2, RRBC Spotlight and Incentives Coordinator TERI GARRINGER (@TeriGarringer) bares her funny side in 26 Questions.

Update: Teri is now the RRBC Tweet Support Team Coordinator.

You can drop by her website here. Or say hi on Facebook.

Let's get to know Teri in more than 140 characters, shall we?

KINDLE NINJA (KN):  Welcome to Conversations over Milk and Cookies. How do you like your cookies? Chewy? Crunchy? Crumbly? Something else?
Definitely SOFT & GOOEY- Right out of the oven!

Are you the type to dunk Oreos in a glass of milk?
On occasion. Honestly don’t have Oreos often.

What’s the hardest part of being the Rave Reviews Book Club Spotlight & Incentives Co-ordinator?
WAITING! I am not by nature a very patient person, so as soon as the RRBC board selects the next batch of lucky authors, I AM EXCITED to let them know!

You’re known to drop F bombs – Faith, Family, Fiction/Fantasy, Fashion & Fabric. What F word are you thinking right now?
Flowers. After a LOOOOOONG winter, I can’t wait to get into my flower beds and celebrate Spring & Summer.

If your life were a song, what would the title be?
“The Best Day of My Life” by coincidentally – The American Authors (Because every day can be a good day with the right attitude.)

Who among the RRBC Board Members would you sing a duet with?
Bruce A. Borders. He’s the group’s song writer AND has the sound equipment to alter my off-key, can’t-carry-a-tune-in-a-bucket voice!

And what song would it be?
I would let him select.

Can you hum a tune for me?
Hmm, mmm, mmm (For some reason the Crash Test Dummies came to mind!)

You said you’re a shopaholic. What color of dress did you wear to the prom?
Sophomore year – (1988) Burgundy
Junior year – Mauve
Senior year – Jade green
(And I can still fit in the last two. I kept them for my daughters to play dress up. Of course they are now waaaay beyond that stage. But you never know when they come in handy – like a few years ago my fellow Spanish teacher lip-sync’d “Girls Just Wanna have Fun” at a school assembly & the jade green one worked as a perfect costume!)

If you were to teach in Hogwarts School of Wizardry, what would your subject be?
Transfiguration. Without a doubt! I would LOVE to teach at Hogwarts! (Many years ago our family dressed up for Halloween: My husband was Hagrid, I was McGonagall, our girls were BOTH Hermione, Rob was Harry, and Cole was a mere 18 month Dobby – complete with pillow case and big ears I made & attached to a headband.)

KINDLE NINJA: You mean this?

I’d assume I’m the person you’d want to drink Milk with (since you agreed to this interview), but who’s the person you’d want to have coffee with?
That’s a tough one. But the man with whom I most associate coffee is my grandpa Jones. And since I haven’t been able to have a cup with him in nearly a decade… that’d be my choice.

How do you like your coffee?
BLACK. On occasion I like a Skinny Vanilla latte.

What would you rather be doing now? (instead of answering these questions).
Sitting under a palm tree in the Caribbean listening to the waves, running my toes in the sand, and letting the wind blow my hair.

I thought I saw you in DUG costume. Would you don a ninja costume?
OF COURSE!

…in stilettos?
OBVIOUSLY!

What’s the best way to decompress?
I quilt. There’s something therapeutic about it for me. Plus I can create treasured heirlooms that will last long after I’m gone.

If you had superpowers, what would it be?
The power to make whatever I want reality. Then I could have them ALL! (Bwa, ha, ha!) But if you are limiting me, I’d pick flying.

What’s the book you wished you’d written?
The Harry Potter Series. Timeless genius.

Celebrity you want to have dinner with?
Maggie Smith

And what would you eat?
Filet Mignon. The dinner would also include roasted asparagus, new red potatoes, and a decadent chocolate raspberry cheesecake for dessert.

What’s the book that positively shaped you?
The Bible

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you about life right now?
9

Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Coke

Nicholas Sparks or Dan Brown?
Dan Brown

J.K. Rowling or Stephenie Meyer?
J.K.

Lastly:  Ninjas or Zombies?
NINJAS, duh!

Thanks for your time. Hope you enjoyed the Q&A.
