#PUSHTUESDAY is one of the brilliant ideas of Rave Reviews BookClub governing body (I call them the Jedi High Council – Nonnie calls them The Gladiators – either works). Every Tuesday, a lucky member is selected and gets massively pushed, shoved, and propelled for a full 24 hours in social media sites (primarily, but not limited to, Twitter). The “pushing” is a show of colossal support from members and such show of force has done wonders to authors’ bottomline (whether it be sales or ranking). Whilst we have different criteria on how success is measured, I must say that IN THIS CASE, the measure of success of such exercise (the PUSH) is in authors’ sales rankings. Why? Because it’s easily verifiable if you are actually paying attention. A case in point. Prior to the push, Author A languishes at the bottom ranking just over the millionth mark, and risks sinking lower. It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it? Then comes #PUSHTUESDAY.
